The League Calls for Your Comments on NCUA Proposed Regulation of 12 CFR Part 704

On November 19, 2009, the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) issued a Proposed Regulation (1.4 mb PDF) that it believes addresses the causes of the current problems and will prevent similar problems from ever occurring in the future.

Please respond to the NCUA with a letter over your CEO’s signature or that of your board chairman. The deadline for responses is March 9, 2010.

To help you with your response to this important initiative, the Washington Credit Union League has put together a comprehensive critical analysis of the proposed regulation, as seen through the eyes of Corporate executives who are in the best position to judge the cause and effect relationships of the NCUA proposals.

New Awards Program Honors Exceptional Volunteers

The Washington Credit Union Foundation Awards Committee proudly announces the inception of the new Volunteer Recognition Program. The program honors and rewards those volunteers who have exemplified outstanding leadership and service within the credit union community through nomination from their credit union colleagues. Unlike the Outstanding Credit Union Volunteer Summit Award, this program includes an Honor Roll and Hall of Fame with nominees being placed in either category based on scoring criteria. All are encouraged to submit their nomination by visiting the Volunteer Recognition Program page on the League website

Biz Kid$ Funding is Underway

Biz Kid$, winner of the 2010 Herb Wegner Award, has begun film on Season 4, and fundraising efforts are underway with a goal to raise $1.3 million in the credit union community.

To do this, the Washington Credit Union Foundation, which oversees the fundraising effort for the America’s Credit Unions coalition, has instigated a new donation recognition system whereby contributors will receive thank you gifts for their support of the show.

Each giving level has been given a name from the film industry. For donations of up to $2,500, the donor will be known as a “Production Assistant,” and will receive a thank you card signed by Hammond, the Executive Producer, and a set of the show’s successes and resources. Higher giving levels include “Action Hero,” “Lead Actor,” and “Executive Producer,” and will come with more thank you gifts, including DVD copies for the full series, t-shirts and studio tours.

The Employees Conference is April 16-17
